As part of the Integrity in Sport project, implemented by Sport Social Solutions, we recently concluded a productive two-day workshop in North Macedonia with expert Joao Almeida, focused on preventing manipulation in sports competitions. The project included training sessions for over 30 coaches, referees, and athletes on recognizing and preventing manipulation, as well as educational programs for young students on the risks of illegal betting. We also held a key meeting with the Ministry of Internal Affairs to plan tailored training for police officials and strengthen collaboration on information exchange. Additionally, a SPOC was established at the NOC level to provide ongoing support. The project’s key takeaways emphasized the need for robust education for young athletes and coaches, along with trustworthy reporting mechanisms and follow-up procedures to ensure the integrity of sport.
This project is funded by Olympic Solidarity and coordinated by the National Olympic Committee of North Macedonia, with Sport Social Solutions serving as the implementing partner.
