The project aims to foster a more equitable and just sports landscape by undertaking a range of activities designed to narrow the gender gap in leadership positions and enhance the capacity of sports organizations in gender equality policies and good governance. This initiative will encompass two research studies alongside a series of workshops focusing on leadership development and safeguarding measures. The objective of this project is twofold: firstly, to enhance the capabilities of national sports governing bodies to establish gender-inclusive and secure environments and secondly, to empower next generation of women to assume leadership roles and drive progress within Macedonian sports. Given that intersectionality plays a role within the realm of disabilities, particular emphasis will be placed on empowering women athletes with disabilities to actively engage in shaping sport policy decision-making pro-cesses.
This three-year project is led by the Olympic Committee of North Macedonia, in collaboration with Sport Social Solutions, Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation and the Macedonian Paralympic Committee.
This project is EU funded.
