Against Gender-Based Violence in Sport

Sport Social Solutions is proud to be part of the project “Against Gender-Based Violence in Sport”, an initiative within the broader EU-funded project “WE CARE: Together We Fight Against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.” This project is implemented by the National Network Against Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence, in partnership with HERA – Association for Research and Health Education, Coalition “Sexual and Health Rights of Marginalized Communities” Margini, and Civic Association Reactor – Research in Action.

Our mission is to create a safe and inclusive sports environment by enforcing a zero-tolerance policy on gender-based violence. Through targeted training sessions, we aim to strengthen the capacities of sports clubs and female athletes in recognizing, preventing, and responding to gender-based violence, with a particular focus on sexual violence.

Additionally, the project works towards developing and implementing policies, reporting mechanisms, and effective response strategies for handling gender-based violence cases within sports organizations. By promoting awareness and equipping sports organizations with the right tools, we strive to make sports a safer and more empowering space for everyone.

As part of the project cycle, we will conduct a series of workshops aimed at coaches, sports administrators, and female athletes. Additionally, we will develop a policy brief for the relevant institutions to strengthen mechanisms for the prevention and protection against gender-based violence in sport.
