As 2025 draws to a close, the SURE Consortium proudly marks the completion of its final meeting of this year—closing a highly productive chapter in the project’s second year. Across all work packages, partners have demonstrated exceptional commitment, cooperation, and progress, laying a solid foundation for the final phase of the Erasmus+ SURE project.
Throughout the year, significant steps were achieved across research, stakeholder engagement, and piloting activities. The extensive collection of good practices has been successfully brought to an end, and all partner countries have completed their interviews. In addition, the development of the survey-based cooperation models is now nearing completion, allowing the consortium to move into the final analytical phase with Work Package 3. This next step will integrate the data gathered from good practices, interviews, and surveys into a comprehensive model for supporting vulnerable socio-economic groups through sport.
Several partners have already launched their pilot actions, testing elements of their cooperation models within local communities. These successful pilots across partner countries demonstrate the Consortium’s readiness to enter the final implementation year with reinforced confidence and evidence-based methods.
A major highlight of 2025 was the in-person Consortium meeting held in Haarlem in the Netherlands hosted by Triple Threat. Their outstanding work in the field of community sport, social inclusion and youth engagement was showcased throughout the meeting. The Consortium had the opportunity to learn directly from their on-the-ground programmes, explore local best practices, and experience firsthand how their organisation continues to set high standards in delivering accessible and community-focused sport services. Their contribution and hospitality significantly enriched this year’s collaborative process and strengthened the collective vision of the SURE project.
Another major milestone is the confirmation of the venue for the Final Conference of the SURE project, which will take place in October 2026 in Split, Croatia—a symbolic choice, given Split’s strong sports heritage. The final conference will bring together partners, stakeholders, policymakers, and local actors to showcase the project’s results and cooperation models developed over three years.
With strong achievements behind us and an exciting final year ahead, the SURE Consortium looks forward to continuing its mission of strengthening unity, resilience and empowerment through sport.
Stay tuned for more updates as the project enters its decisive third year.
