Youth Placemaking in Action: Skopje’s First Intervention Complete

In Gjorče Petrov, Skopje, an abandoned playground has been transformed into a vibrant youth space through the very first Youth Placemaking intervention in North Macedonia. Led by young people, the project turned a neglected area into a safe, inclusive, and dynamic space made by youth, for youth.

This initiative is part of the Youth Placemaking Balkans project, co-funded by the European Union, which empowers young people across the region to reimagine public spaces and shape healthier, more inclusive communities.

This is only the beginning – the first intervention of its kind in the country, and certainly not the last.
